‘New Sparkle’ is the second single from Newcastle’s Rexine, the follow up to their debut ‘There And Back Again’ which received airplay on The Tom Robinson Show on 6Music, the BBC Introducing Mixtape, NE1 FM’s Hit The North (East), and BBC Newcastle’s The Evening Show.

The single was recorded at Polestar Studios, Newcastle, by Rob Blamire of Penetration.

The band has been described as “paper doll popsters, oozing with the energy of post-punk mayhem”. Alternately jagged and jangly, discordant and catchy, noisy and bittersweet, Rexine’s music captures all the bands they love (Pixies, Wedding Present, Smiths, Pulp) and dreams up a new sound.

Having previously played with the likes of Shonen Knife, The Lovely Eggs and Allo Darlin’, Rexine have recently been busy with gigs further afield including Out of the Trees Festival, Warkworth; Blackpool’s Blue Rooms; and Stockton Georgian Theatre supporting Viv Albertine.
